Prevailing Wage Rates
The Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. seq.) requires the Village to establish the prevailing rate of wages for laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in performing public works projects for the Village.
The Village Board of Trustees on June 21, 2018 approved Ordinance 7537 ascertaining the Prevailing Rate of Wages for Laborers, Workers and Mechanics employed on Public Works Projects in the Village of Lombard.
Process for Contracting Engineering Services
The Village of Lombard uses a Quality Based Selection (QBS) process to select consulting firms for engineering services. A selection committee representing the Engineering Division, Utilities Division, and Operations Division votes to establish an initial list of approximately a dozen firms from all of those that have expressed an interest or have performed past work for the Village. Firms on the initial list are then invited to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP). The same committee then scores the proposals to select the firm to be awarded the contract, and the top-ranked firms are selected to comprise the shortlist for the next few years. The Village strives to have a transparent and fair process, and the entire composite ranking is made available to all firms that submitted a proposal. Questions and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) may be submitted by email to the Assistant Director of Public Works, David Gorman, at gormand@villageoflombard.org.
The following lists, in alphabetical order, are in effect for 2017-2021.
