  2. Sweet's Civil War Re-Enactment

    July 28, 10:00 AM - July 29, 4:00 PM @ Four Seasons Park

    The Lombard Historical Society will host a Civil War encampment at Four Seasons Park in Lombard from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29. This event will feature both Confederate and Union soldiers recreating an 1863 military campsite, military drills and demonstrations, cannon fire during a skirmish, Civil War era music and games, horse-drawn wagon rides, and other living history activities. Stanford's Battery and the 8th Veteran Reserve Corps are co-hosting this event. Stanford’s Battery is a seasoned reenacting unit that has been performing in regional events and parades for many years. They interpret a Confederate battery unit from Mississippi and have several cannons in the unit. In the past they have been invited to be part of local and regional reenactments and one of their cannons was featured in the movie “Glory”.
