The Youth Leadership program is an initiative of the Village’s Community Relations Committee, which is focused on creating and fostering relationships between the Village of Lombard and its residents. “The goal of the program is to provide the opportunity for high school aged Lombard students to learn about the inner workings of their local government. It also allows students to see how each department works together to get things done,” said Community Relations Chairperson and Lombard Trustee Robyn Pike. “This is a fun experience, a great way to learn about the Village, and it could also be a helpful addition to college resumes.”
The class size will be kept to a maximum of 10 students, with a minimum of 7. All high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 are invited to apply, however Lombard residents will be given preferential admittance. Applications are available at www.villageoflombard.org/youthleadership and can be dropped off at Village Hall or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, 2017. Students chosen for the program will be notified by Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2017.
