Winter Storm Totals: Jan. 22 - Feb. 4.

Lombard experienced five separate storm events from Tuesday, Jan. 22 - Monday, Feb. 4, including record setting cold temperatures. 

Throughout the storm events, Public Works crews worked to keep roads clear and salted. During these two weeks, Public Works snow plows and trucks drove a total of 13,727 miles, which is the same distance from Lombard to Beijing, China and back! For more stats, view the infographic

Results from Super Bowl Drive Sober Crack Down 

The Lombard Police Department conducted special patrols during Super Bowl weekend to keep impaired drivers off the roads and encourage motorists to wear their seat belts. 

The message was familiar and simple: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket. Enforcement efforts produced 7 arrests, including 2 DUI arrests. See full list

National Burn Awareness Week

Burn Awareness Week 

The American Burn Association estimates that each year in the United States, 1.1 million burn injuries require medical attention.  Scalds burns are caused by hot water or steam. These painful burns may require prolonged treatment and could result in lifelong scarring or even death. Prevention of scalds is always preferable to treatment and can be accomplished through simple changes in behavior and the home environment. More
