Man Arrested for Allegedly Sending Threatening Messages 

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Roy Newton announced today that bond has been set for a man accused of sending a threatening message.

On April 15, 2019, the Lombard Police Department received information regarding a threatening message to a female Glenbard East High School student, received via Facebook messenger. This report was investigated immediately by the Lombard Police Department, leading to the arrest of Jaris McCullum, 18 (d.o.b. 7/5/2000). 


Crescent Blvd. Bridge Closure Begins

The Village has been notified that the Hill Ave. Bridge over I-355 has been reopened. Subsequently, the Crescent Blvd. Bridge has been closed and the Hill Ave. Bridge will be the detour route for the Crescent Bridge Closure

Hydrant Flushing Begins Monday 

Lombard Public Works will begin spring hydrant flushing on Monday, April 22, 3:30 - 7:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday, for approximately six weeks. Hydrants are flushed and inspected to make sure that they are in working order, in case of fire emergencies.

Unwanted or expired prescription medications often end up in the wrong hands. Help prevent prescription drug abuse and accidental bringing your unwanted or expired prescription drugs to the Lombard Police Department for safe disposal, on Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Tree City USA: Tree Planting Ceremony 

Lombard has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 29th year. To recognize Lombard’s ongoing Tree City USA status, a ceremonial tree planting will take place Friday, April 26, at 9 a.m., at the Lombard Village Complex, 255 E Wilson Avenue, just east of the intersection of E Wilson and Holloman Drive on the rise behind the sign. The Village will be planting several hybrid American Chestnuts.

Lilac Time Photo Contest: Celebrating 150 Years 

Lombard is hosting its 6th Annual Lilac Time Photo Contest, seeking photos from Lilac Time events in Lombard, May 1-19, 2019. The winning photos will be featured on the Village website, displayed at Village Hall and used in future promotional materials. The contest is seeking submissions for the Best Lilacia Park Photo, Best Spirit of the Community, Best Lilac Time Parade Photo. To celebrate Lombard's 150th Birthday, two additional categories will be featured this year including a photo utilizing "150" in a prominent and creative fashion, and photos of Lilac Times of the past.

The Lombard Police Department are continuing to crackdown on distracted drivers throughout the month of April, during Distracted Driving Awareness Month

6 in 10 teen crashes involve distracted driving. Be sure to talk to your teen driver and review safe driving practices.
