Lilac Time Photo Contest 

Lilac Time returns to Lombard, May 1 - 19. To celebrate, Lombard is hosting its 6th Annual Lilac Time Photo Contest. The winners will receive Yorktown gift cards and have their photos displayed on the Village's website, displayed at Village Hall, and used in future promotional materials. The contest is seeking submissions for the following: 

  • Best Lilacia Park Photo
  • Best Spirit of the Community
  • Best Lilac Time Parade Photo
Celebrating Lombard's Sesquicentennial
To celebrate Lombard's 150th Birthday, two additional categories will be featured this year including a photo utilizing "150" in a prominent and creative fashion, and photos of Lilac Times of the past. Visit for rules and details.

Don't Be the Dealer: Bring Unwanted Prescriptions to Drug Take Back Day

Expired or unwanted medicines that are commonly found in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Don't let your unwanted prescription drugs end up in the wrong hands. 

To prevent drug abuse and accidental poisonings, bring unwanted or expired prescription drugs to the Lombard Police Department for safe disposal, for DEA Drug Take Back Day, on Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Distracted driving tops the list of growing dangers on the road for drivers and 88% of people say distracted driving is on the rise. How distracted are you? 

The Lombard Police Department is cracking down on distracted driving throughout the month of April, including Distracted Driving Awareness Week, April 21-27.

As patio fire pits, outdoor burning, and outdoor fire places grow in popularity, so does the risk for burns. Keep yourself and others safe when conducting a fire with fire safety tips from the Lombard Fire Department. 

IDOT construction

IDOT Announces I-355 Repair Work on North Ave. and Butterfield Bridges

The Village has been notified that IDOT will be performing repairs on the bridges over I-355 on North Ave. and Butterfield Rd., beginning as soon as Wednesday, May 1. 

While this is an IDOT project, the Village will share information as it is made available. Please contact IDOT with any questions or concerns directly.
