Block Parties
The Village encourages residents to get to know each other and to foster positive neighborhood activities for families and friends.  Block parties are a great way to do this.

Residents seeking to host a block party must fill out and submit a Block Party Permit/Street Closing Request to the Public Works Department at least seven days prior to the party.  On the form is a section for applicants to check if they would like the Police and/or Fire Departments to attend if their schedules allow.  After all Department approvals are made, Public Works will return an approved copy of the form to the applicant.

Request forms can be submitted via fax (630) 620-5982, U.S. mail or dropped off at the Public Works Department 1051 S. Hammerschmidt.  When submitting the Block Party Request, make sure that you also read, sign and submit the second page.

The Friday evening prior to your party barricades will be delivered to the intersections to be closed.  Residents should set up the barricades when starting the festivities and remove the barricades from the roadway and return them to where they were dropped off when finished.  The barricades will be picked up on Monday.

The Lombard Park District has a Block Party Wagon that residents may reserve.  The wagon contains ten tables, 100 chairs, a 10'x10' canopy, large charcoal grill, a bean bag game and a sound system.  For more information regarding the Block Party Wagon, please contact the Park District at (630) 627-1281 or at www.lombardparks.com/partywagon.htm.
