Dog Registration

Village Ordinance requires:
  • Every owner of a dog within the Village limits shall annually, by January 1st, register such animal with the Village of Lombard Police Department.  There is NO Fee to register your dog. 
  • A current rabies vaccination is required for all dogs.
  • Any animal kept within the Village shall have a collar around its neck which shall have attached to it all tags issued as proof of compliance with state, county and local ordinances.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to harbor more than three (3) dogs, cats, or other domestic animals (over 3 months old) on any premises.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person owning a dog to travel upon any area other than his own property within the Village unless such animal is restrained by a leash.
  • The owner of every animal shall be responsible for the removal and sanitary disposal of any feces deposited by his animal anywhere in the Village.
  • It is hereby declared a nuisance for the owner of a dog to permit loud, frequent, and continuous barking, such that the Village receives two or more complaints within a 24 hour period from residences within 200 feet of the offending animal.
  • Each owner shall provide sufficient quantity of good food and water, proper shelter and protection from weather, veterinary care when needed and humane care and treatment.
  • No person shall leave an animal unattended in a motor vehicle when outside temperature exceeds 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

To register your dog, please complete a Dog Registration Form. Upon completing this form online, when you choose the option to "Submit", your registration will be directed to the Lombard Police Department, 235 E. Wilson Ave.
