Community Development and Building

The principal function of the Department of Community Development is to administer, supervise and monitor the structured growth of the Village of Lombard while adhering to the strategic plan and goals set forth by the Village President, Board of Trustees and Village Manager.

The Department performs building permit review and inspection process, stormwater management activities and code compliance roles. It is also devoted to ensuring the best possible economic well-being of the local economy through its development, recruitment and retention efforts. Direct department support and assistance to the Village President, Board of Trustees, and the Village Manager's Office are also provided.
