Lombard Junior Women's Club has a long history of volunteer service to the community. The club has a Board of Directors, comprised of officers and chairmen, who meet monthly for 11 months of the year and a general membership which meets monthly September through May. All members select areas of interest such as Health, Education, Environment, Public Issues and work on projects in those categories. Within the General Federation of Women's Clubs, Illinois, Lombard Jr. Women's Club has been selected as Best Overall Club in their size category numerous times.
The projects the club supports in the community include: TLC Camp for children with cancer and a sibling which was started by them in 1983; the Lilac Princess Program, which they have sponsored since 2002, is a time-honored tradition promoting scholastic achievement among young women; the organization is concerned with the issues of domestic violence and child abuse and they serve senior citizens and the needy locally and globally. They strive to provide continual personal development for their members as well.
