The Village of Lombard’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility coordinator is Keith Steiskal. This position coordinates the efforts of the Village to comply with Title II of the ADA. In addition, the accessibility coordinator administers the Village’s ADA grievance procedure.

Grievance Procedure: Americans with Disabilities Act
Section 35.107(b) (28 CFR part 35) requires public entities with 50 or more employees to establish a grievance procedure for hearing complaints, requests or suggestions from individuals regarding access to and participation in public facilities, services, and activities and functions offered by the Village of Lombard.
A grievance filed against the Village concerning complaints regarding access or alleged discrimination shall be processed in the following manner:
All complaints regarding access or alleged discrimination shall be placed in writing and submitted to the ADA Coordinator, for a resolution. A record of the complaint and decision made by the ADA Coordinator will be maintained. A written decision by the ADA Coordinator will be rendered within 15 working days of receipt of the complaint and sent certified mail to complainant.
If the complaint cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant by the ADA Coordinator, the complainant has right to appeal to the Village of Lombard Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees shall hear complaints, requests, or suggestions from individuals regarding the access to and participation in public facilities, services, activities, and functions of the Village of Lombard only upon receiving a written request appealing the decision of the ADA Coordinator. The Board of Trustees shall hear such complaint in public, after adequate public notice is given. The Board of Trustees shall issue a written decision within 30 days of its hearing. The decision of the Board of Trustees shall be final.
No grievance will be processed or entertained if it is not submitted in writing to the ADA Coordinator.
The complaint should be in writing, signed by the complainant or an authorized representative, contain the complainant’s name and address, a complete statement of the facts, a description of the provisions of the American with Disabilities Act which are alleged to have been violated, and the relief requested.
An individual’s right to a prompt and equitable resolution of the complaint will not be impaired by their pursuant of other remedies, such as the filing of a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice or any other appropriate federal agency. The use of the Village of Lombard ADA Grievance Procedure is not a pre-requisite to the pursuit of other remedies.
