Eagle Scout Day


Eagle Scout Day,
Proclaimed at the January 17, 2013 Lombard Board of Trustees meeting.

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is the largest youth program in the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America program teaches our boys and young adults not only the many skills and abilities that serve them well their entire lives, but also provides our future with individuals who have integrity, honor, high work ethics and a belief in a supreme being from many faiths; and

WHEREAS, the Three Fires Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host an Eagle Scout Banquet on February 8, 2013 called “A Gathering of Eagles” to individually recognize the 403 scouts who have earned the highest achievement level in scouting, that of being an Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, the banquet is an event honoring the individuals who have worked with dedication, diligence, commitment and honesty and have exhibited true leadership in their achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the naming of the first Eagle Scout; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Acting Village President William Ware, do hereby proclaim February 8, 2013, EAGLE SCOUT DAY, in the Village of Lombard in honor of all of the individuals who have attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America program.
