Fourth of July 2018

The Village of Lombard will be hosting a fireworks display at Madison Meadow Park, on Wednesday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. Here are some helpful tools for you to use when planning to come see Lombard's 2018 Fireworks Display. (Scroll down to view parking and event maps.)

What will be happening this year for the Fourth of July?

The Village of Lombard is hosting a fireworks display in Madison Meadow Park on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. This event will be a fireworks display only.

What can I bring to the event?

You can bring food and drinks to the event and we encourage visitors to stay hydrated. There will be NO alcohol allowed.

Where can I park?

Parking restrictions will be in effect in the area surrounding Madison Meadow. Limited street parking will be available. Several Park District lots will be open to the public, but will fill up quickly. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle service provided by the Village of Lombard.  (See Map Below)

Where are the shuttle locations?

Shuttle locations will be at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St. (Please note that the construction to improve a sanitary sewer manhole will require the temporary complete closure of the Edson and Wilson Avenue intersection, one block east of Finley Rd., for approximately four weeks beginning June 25. Posted detours will be in place. See Construction Map Below), Madison Elementary School, 150 W. Madison St., and Pleasant Lane School, 401 N. Main St. Shuttle service to and from Madison Meadow will run before the event, beginning at 7 p.m., and after the event. 

After I arrive, where should I go to see the fireworks?

This event is designed for maximum visibility and fireworks can be viewed from any location in the park. (See Viewing Map Below)

When will the fireworks start?

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m., to ensure that the sun has set fully. 

Is there any handicapped accessibility to the park?

Handicapped parking will be available in the parking lot off of Wilson Street at the southeast corner of the park (See Map Below).

Where can I go to find help in the case of an emergency?

Call 911 in the case of any emergency. Emergency medical services will be onsite at the north end of the park off of Madison Street (See Map Below)

Are there bathrooms available at the event?

Portable bathroom facilities will be available on site (See Map Below)

What happens if it rains?

In the occasion of dangerous or inclement weather, the fireworks display will be rescheduled for an alternative date. Please check this page (www.villageoflombard/fourthofjuly), and @LilacVillage on Twitter for updates.

What is the earliest time I’m allowed to “claim” my spot for the event?

Madison Meadow Park measures more than 80 acres in area with ample seating available for all spectators. Lombard Parks, including Madison Meadow, open at dawn. Events are scheduled through July 3rd in the park and anything left in the park before July 4th will be removed. The use of drones and/or the flying of any model aircrafts are prohibited per the Lombard Park District ordinance.
