FAQ’s
Why is this project necessary?
The sanitary sewers within the project need to be cleaned and inspected, as identified by a previous inspection done by the Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool (SL-RAT). SL_RAT is a very portable onsite assessment tool for quickly detecting the level of blockage conditions in gravity sewers. The data acquired by cleaning and televising is entered into the Village’s Asset Management and Geographical Information System so the current condition of the sanitary sewer can be recorded.
How does this benefit the Village?
Cleaning and inspecting sanitary sewers, allows staff to plan efficient and effective maintenance activities to optimize conditions and to program any necessary improvement projects in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
Will this impact traffic and parking?
There may be periods that construction traffic/equipment will present a minor and/or temporary delay. Residents should exercise caution when approaching any construction traffic. Maple Street, Madison Street, St. Charles Road, Elizabeth Street, Finley Road, Westmore-Meyers Road, and Roosevelt Road may have brief temporary lane reductions allowing for staging of personnel and equipment.
