Project Information

Project Limits:  Various locations throughout the Village

Project: The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate sanitary manholes. The program improves defects due to corrosive hydrogen sulfide gases (H2S), reduces Inflow and Infiltration (I&I), and corrects other structural issues. I&I is groundwater and/or storm water that flows into sanitary sewers, which reduces the capacity to convey sewage and also increases the treatment costs.

Why is this project necessary? Manholes deteriorate over their time and need to be periodically maintained. By lining and grouting them, corrosion is significantly reduced and I&I is reduced.

How does this benefit the Village? Rehabilitated manholes have (a) reduced I&I, b) an extended service life, and c) improved sewage flow.

Will there be detours?
There may be a short-term lane reductions when the Contractor is working in the roadway and parking equipment. When working in parking lots, the Contractor may utilize a few spots.
