How does this benefit the Village? When completed, drivability and drainage will be improved.

Will my road be closed? There should be no road closures under this project.

If my driveway is inaccessible where do I park? Residents whose driveways are impacted by the construction will receive prior notice and parking permits allowing overnight parking on the street for the duration of their driveway closure.

Will my water or sewer service be affected? Water and sewer service will not be affected by this project.

Project Information

This Project Includes: Milling and resurfacing of selected streets; concrete removal and replacement work as needed, which will be primarily be spot curb replacement and sidewalk removal with ADA (American Disability Act) improvements at intersections; patching of utility repairs; parkway restoration.

Project Schedule: May/June 2018 to August 3, 2018

Project Limits: Various streets throughout the Village that include: 

 Cedar Lane - cul-de-sac to Madison Street  Martha Street - Pleasant Lane to Prairie Avenue
 Charlotte Street - Prairie Avenue to St. Charles Road  Parkside Avenue - Main Street to Grace Street
 Craig Place - Pleasant Lane to Prairie Avenue  Parkside Avenue - East Commuter Parking Lot
 Garfield Street - Pleasant Avenue to Prairie Avenue  Phillips Court - dead end west to Glenview Avenue
 Glenview Avenue - dead end north to St. Charles Road  Prairie Avenue - Grace Street to Westwood Avenue
 Glenview Avenue - St. Charles Road to Crescent Blvd.  View Street - Main Street to Grace Street
 Grove Street - Main Street to Charlotte Street  Village Hall Fan Parking Lot
 Harmony Lane - cul-de-sac to Madison Street  West Road - dead end north to North Avenue
 Kramer Avenue - dead end north to Prairie Avenue  Westwood Avenue - dead end north to Prairie Avenue
 Lewis Avenue - dead end north to Prairie Avenue  Wilson Avenue - Edgewood Avenue to Westmore-Meyers Road

Traffic Impact: Moderate for those streets being resurfaced. Temporary one-lane traffic situations will occur during grinding and paving operations.


7/10/18 - Fresh Oil signs are being placed and tack coat is to be sprayed this afternoon on E. View Street from Main to Grace, N. Garfield, N. Martha & N. Craig Streets between Pleasant and Prairie.  Also being tack coated is Charlotte Street between Prairie and St. Charles Road and Grove Street between Main and Charlotte.  Please allow the tack coat to dry before entering your driveway to avoid tracking.  Leveling binder paving will begin in the above areas tomorrow at 7:00 AM and will progress the rest of the week.

7/9/18 - The contractor has resumed grinding operations and is working on N. Garfield between Pleasant and Prairie, N. Charlotte between Prairie and St. Charles Road, & E. Grove between Main and Charlotte. Paving will be done Wednesday, Thursday & Friday of this week. 

7/2/18 - The contractor is working in 2 locations today. Street grinding operations are taking place on E. View Street between Main & Grace Streets. There is also curb installation work occurring on E. Wilson Avenue between Edgewood and Westmore-Meyers.

6/26/18 - The Village’s contractor, R.W. Dunteman Company, began curb and sidewalk removal on N. Craig Place, N. Martha, N. Garfield and E. View Streets as well as curb removal on Glenview.*
