FAQ’s

Why is this project necessary? The station has exceeded its service life. Updated facilities are necessary to have a reliable sewer collection system.

How does this benefit the Village?
The benefits of the project will be an improved and more reliable sewer collection system. Specifically, the projects will provide an updated control system, new pumps, piping and an ability to perform maintenance while minimizing disruptions to traffic or sewer service.

Will this impact traffic and parking?  There may be short-term lane reductions on Westmore/Meyers as work progress (service connection to the sanitary sewer system) and construction equipment and materials enter and leave the site. However, the primary impact will be limited to the lift station site and the west parkway (Arthur Avenue) across from the station.

Project Information

Project Limits: Westmore/Meyers Road (just north of Wilson Avenue

Project: This is the second of two contracts associated with the full rehabilitation of the Cambria Lift Station. Phase 1 included manhole modifications, televising of the 12-inch diameter sanitary sewer line under Westmore/Meyers Road, and the installation of a permanent bypass line that will minimize traffic disruptions on Westmore/Meyers Road. The Phase 2 contract is for the replacement of pumps, piping, control panel, flow meter and air vacuum manholes, rehabilitation of the existing steel wet well, and site restoration.

4/17/19 - Thursday, 4/18,  from 9 AM to 2 PM, traffic will be reduced to one lane on Westmore-Meyers Road between Wilson Avenue and Lombard Circle. A crane will require up to three traffic lanes to lift large construction materials over the power lines. Advance warning signs, arrow boards, cones, and flaggers will manage traffic.
