2019 Toy Drive Collects Items for Local Residents

Help make the season a little bit brighter for a local family by donating a new, unwrapped toy! Donations benefit the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry, the Outreach House, and the Teen Parent Connection. The Toy Drive will end with the Fire Department's Annual Toy Parade down Main Street on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Toy Drive: Nov. 26 – Dec. 14

“This is our 19th year of helping to make the holiday season a little brighter for some Lombard and nearby residents," said Lombard Firefighter and Paramedic Kevin Matthews. "We are always so humbled by the giving spirit of the Lombard community. The Toy Drive and the Toy Parade are a great way for people to give back to those in need this holiday season."

Toy Drive collection bins are available at the following locations:  (shown on map) 

  • Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles
  • Fire Station 44, 2020 S. Highland Ave.
  • Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave
  • Schroeder’s Ace Hardware: 837 S Westmore-Meyers Rd
  • Clark Orthodontics 23 N Main St, Lombard,
  • Sunset Knolls Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Rd.
  • Madison Meadows Athletic Center: 500 E. Wilson Ave.

 Items requested include new toys (unwrapped), and baby supplies such as formula and diapers. Items collected will benefit the Teen Parent Connection, First Things First and the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry. Schools in District 44 and 45 will also collect items. Cash donations are also being accepted and may be dropped off at either Lombard Fire Station.

Toy Parade: Dec. 14, 10:30 a.m. 
Residents are invited to attend the Toy Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m. The Fire Department, along with volunteers and community groups, will depart Fire Station 45 at 50 E. St. Charles at 10:15 a.m., and will proceed south on Main Street to Glenbard East High School. Residents may line up along southbound Main Street to donate gifts, up to Glenbard East High School. Donations will then be brought to Yorktown Shopping Center for sorting.
