In connection with the Lombard Pride Committee, the Village of Lombard continues to seek responses from qualified not-for-profit groups interested in operating a new Village-wide summer community event or festival.
The Village hopes that the Requests for Proposal process will help to identify a potential not-for-profit group or groups to provide event and festival services on a multi-year basis. The Lombard Pride Committee was created to advise the Village Board of Trustees on matters pertaining special events, with a focus of evaluating potential future community events. The Lombard Pride Committee preliminary recommendation suggests a 2 – 3 day weekend event including but not limited to a family fun, art and wine, cultural or other type of event or celebration featuring food, local vendors and live music. The Committee has specifically stated that new and creative ideas for future events, which are not tied to any past historic events or locations, are encouraged.
Potential groups interested in submitting a RFP should have a solid financial standing and proven track record of successful event planning. Groups without sufficient experience may partner with a professional event planning company and/or another group with appropriate experience. Letters were sent to community organizations and groups throughout Lombard, inviting them to an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 15 at Village Hall. The Village hosted the meeting to review the RFP and to answer any questions groups might have in completing their proposals.
Not-for-profit groups should submit their event proposals by the RFP deadline of September 28, 2015. The special event RFP may be found on the Village of Lombard website at www.villageoflombard.org/PrideRFP.
