The Village of Lombard is honoring Carol Bauer for providing Lombard residents with more than 50 years of dedicated public service. Bauer recently celebrated her 50th anniversary and will be honored at an upcoming reception and Village Board Meeting.
A reception will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 4, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. Bauer will also be honored at the Village Board Meeting immediately following the reception at 7:30 p.m. This event is open to community members and residents who wish to thank her for her lifetime of ongoing service to the Village.
Bauer was hired in 1966 as a Police dispatcher and was later promoted to Executive Secretary to the Village Manager. Bauer is currently employed as the Executive Coordinator to the Village Manager, and is the Village’s Blood Drive Coordinator. Since starting the Village’s Blood Drive program in 1988, Bauer has hosted 141 blood drives, which have resulted in 12,946 pints of donated blood with the potential to save 37,938 lives.
