The Lombard Police Department is warning residents and commuters that use the North Ave. corridor, that a credit card skimming machine was found at the Shell gas station at North Ave. and Route 53.
A call was made to the Lombard Police Department with concerns of a possible credit card skimmer at the gas station mentioned. Upon investigation a single credit card skimmer was found and was immediately removed when discovered on Friday, March 25th. It is unknown who placed the skimmer on the Reports of a credit card skimmer or how long it has been in operation.
“If you used a credit card to pay at the pump at this location, don’t wait for your monthly statement to arrive before confirming your financial standings,” said Lombard Detective Lieutenant Cyndy Velazquez. “We want to get the word out so that residents can check with their credit card company as soon as possible, to help ensure protection.”
