The Village of Lombard is inviting past blood donors, residents, and first time donors, to celebrate Carol Bauer’s 50 years of ongoing civil service with the Village, and her dedication to Lombard’s Blood Drive Program by donating blood to people in need.
Carol began working with the Village as Police Dispatcher in 1966, and is currently employed as the Village’s Executive Coordinator and Blood Drive Coordinator. Carol has helped to collect enough blood donations to save up to 37,122 lives. The Carol Bauer Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, at Yorktown Shopping Center, from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., and at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30 - 7 p.m.
Blood donors will be entered into a raffle to win an overnight stay at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center, and Yorktown gift cards. Any donor who recruits a new blood donor will be given 2 chances to win the raffle prizes.
Heartland Blood Centers need about 600 blood donors every day to meet the needs of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana hospitals. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend the Carol Bauer Blood Drive, to pay tribute to Carol and her ongoing commitment to helping others.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to book a donation time slot, call Blood Drive Coordinator Carol Bauer at (630) 620-5712 or visit www.villageoflombard.org/blooddrives .
