The Village of Lombard is recognizing 2016 National EMS Week: EMS Strong Called to Care, May 15th – 21st, by honoring Lombard’s emergency responders at a Board Meeting on Thursday May 19th, at Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave.
Twenty four members of the Lombard Fire Department, who have served as a paramedic in the state for a significant amount of time, will be recognized. These public servants will also be recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, which serves as Lombard’s System Resource Hospital. Combined, these individuals have served the public with emergency services for a total of 405 years.
“The amount of years served by our EMS responders act as a testament to the experience and dedication of these individuals,” said Lombard Fire Department Lt. EMS Officer Frank Gallione, who will be receiving a 30 year award. “We are proud to be able to provide Lombard residents with excellent emergency medical care.”
Recipients include: 30 years: Chief Paul Dirienzo, Battalion Chief Al Greene, Lieutenant Brian Stuart, and Lieutenant Frank Gallione; 25 years: Lieutenant Greg Vazquez, Firefighter/Paramedic Don Volz; 20 years: Lieutenant Doug CailFF/PM Chris Brasile, FF/PM Dudley Elvery, FF/PM Mike Fetzer, FF/PM Tom Tulipano; 15 years: Lieutenant Mark Sepe, FF/PM Bill Chick, FF/PM Adam Johnson, FF/PM Tim Hogan; 10 Years: Lieutenant Dan Ekhart, Lieutenant Mike Heimbecker, Lieutenant Mike Ringa, Lieutenant Tony Sally, FF/PM Tim Hillesheim, FF/PM Jack Shafer; 5 Years: FF/PM Josh Hays, FF/PM Juan Placencia, FF/PM Gabe Suto.
