As part of the Village’s 2016 Asphalt Patching and Paving Program, Parkside Avenue between Main Street and Elizabeth Street, including the daily fee commuter parking stalls, will be resurfaced.
Phase 1 of the project began on Monday, August 8, and includes the removal of deficient curb and concrete flatwork. This work resulted in the temporary closure of approximately 15 stalls. Phase two includes the grinding of the roadway and parking stall surfaces. This work is anticipated to begin August 15, 2016 and will require that all commuter parking stalls be closed off. Alternate arrangements have been made with Sacred Heart Church that will provide equivalent parking in designated areas within the church parking lot. Signage has been placed in the designated area. Any vehicles parking in non-designated areas will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. The project will be completed once the resurfacing and striping of Parkside Ave. and the parking stalls is complete. The Village anticipates that the parking areas will reopen on August 20, 2016, depending on weather conditions.
