The Lombard Police Department announced results for its 2017 Super Bowl weekend Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket enforcement activity that ran on/from Feb. 3 – 6, 2017.
The Lombard Police Department reports that the increase in enforcement activity resulted in 3 DUI arrests. In addition, 13 seat belt citations, 17 cell phone citations, and 17 speeding citations were issued.
“Motorists should continue to heed the warning that we are serious about cracking down on impaired drivers and seat belt law violators. We do it to save lives,” said Sgt. Joe Grage, Traffic Safety Unit Officer with the Lombard Police Department.
The recent law enforcement crackdown was made possible by federal highway safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Safety Programs and Engineering and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
