The Village of Lombard will be holding its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Sunken Garden in Lombard Common Park, located near the intersection of Grace and Maple Streets.
Lombard Village President Keith Giagnorio will welcome attendees and Pastor Bryant from St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Lombard will open the ceremony with an invocation. A Veterans Day Proclamation will be read by Village Clerk Sharon Kuderna and students from Glenbard East High School will perform the “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America”. Participating students include singer Maddie Novak and buglers, Ryan Valdivia and Ben Fusco.
In an effort to remember the outstanding courage and commitment to freedom made by our veterans, Village President Giagnorio invites all residents, scout troops and families to attend. Residents interested in sitting during the short ceremony are invited to bring lawn chairs. Village President Giagnorio encourages those who cannot attend to take a moment on Veterans Day at 11 a.m., to remember those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The event is organized by Lilac VFW Post 5815 and the Village of Lombard. For more information contact Communications Coordinator Avis Meade at (630)620-5718 or visit the Village’s website at villageoflombard.org/veterans.
