At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, the Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a basement fire at on the 200 block of W. Crystal Ave. The fire was reported by a resident of the home.
According to Battalion Chief Al Greene, arriving firefighters encountered a significant amount of fire coming from the basement of the two story single family home. Fire crews assisted in the removal of one resident from the elevated front porch of the home. Two residents were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The estimated damage to the structure and contents is over $200,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries to emergency personal were reported. Lombard was assisted by Addison Fire Protection District, Elmhurst Fire Department, Villa Park Fire Department, and York Center Fire Protection District.
