During the holiday season, Lombard residents are reminded that Public Works and Waste Management are offering electronic and holiday tree recycling opportunities.
Electronic Recycling Options from Public Works and Waste Management
Waste Management collects electronic items, including televisions and computers, for up to 180 Lombard residences each year, on a first come first serve basis. There is no cost to residents to utilize this program. Visit www.wmatyourdoor.com or call (800)449-7587 for more info and to request a pickup. In addition, the HHW drop-off facility in Naperville is open Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., excluding holidays. A great local resource to recycle electronics, but not including CRT televisions and monitors, is the Goodwill Store on Roosevelt Road.
Holiday Recycling Options
- Holiday Light Recycling
Recycle old lights through Sunday, Jan. 14, in front of Lombard Public Works at 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Avenue. Wiring and the small bulbs are accepted, but not ornaments.
- Holiday Tree Collection Program
Residents may place trees, free of tinsel and decorations, at their curbsides, January 2-12, at no charge.
