The Lombard Police Department made one Driving Under the Influence arrest, 14 driving with license suspended arrests, and issued 45 seat belt citations during the recent Fourth of July “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns.
Lombard Police ticket for traffic violations year-round, however extra enforcements were on the road June 15th – July 6th, to help keep Lombard’s roads safe leading up to, and through the July 4th holiday weekend. During this time, officers issued the following citations:
- 29 speeding tickets
- 39 cell phone violation tickets
- 4 child seat violation tickets
- 41 other tickets
Lombard Police joined forces with law enforcement agencies throughout the state in the Fourth of July Drive Sober and Click It or Ticket crackdown.
Extra enforcement efforts are funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and are part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
