The Village of Lombard is completing the Roosevelt Road/Finley Road Intersection Improvements project. The project will provide increased roadway and intersection capacity and traffic signal modernization for Roosevelt Road and Finley Road.
Dual left turn lanes on Finley Road will alleviate current and projected traffic volumes at the intersection, and a third lane on eastbound Roosevelt Road will accommodate additional traffic for the new Mariano’s grocery store at 345 W. Roosevelt Road. A new traffic signal will provide convenient access from both directions of Roosevelt Road into the Mariano’s property.
Roosevelt Road is a state route and lies under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and thereby both signal timings are under IDOT jurisdiction. The reconstructed permanent traffic signal at Roosevelt Road/Finley Road and the new permanent traffic signal at 345 W. Roosevelt Road have an anticipated activation date of February 14, 2018. Digital message signs have been placed on Roosevelt Road to alert motorists of the anticipated signal activation date. IDOT staff will inspect the intersections and make the final determination regarding the traffic signal activations.
