Public Works is reminding residents that Lombard’s yard waste pick up program will begin Monday, April 2, 2018, and will run through the second full week in December.
Cans and bags filled with yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, small twigs or branches and plant materials) must have green yard waste stickers attached to them. One yard waste sticker is required on each can or bag, not to weigh more than 50 pounds. Yard waste stickers may be purchased at the Village Hall at 255 E. Wilson Ave., Jewel (Lombard and Villa Park locations), Schroeder’s Ace Hardware at 837 S. Westmore-Meyers Rd., and West Suburban Bank at 711 S. Westmore-Meyers Rd., and Johnson's Lighthouse BP at 1 W. St. Charles in Villa Park, for $2.00 each.
Brush is defined as limbs or branches from trees, shrubs or bushes. Bundles of brush must be tied, not exceeding six feet in length or 18 inches in diameter and not exceeding 50 pounds each. Also, no individual branch or limb can exceed six inches in diameter. Properly bundled brush does not require a sticker. Brush and yard waste will be collected on the regularly scheduled garbage collection day.
