Public Works has partnered with a contractor for Lombard’s Sidewalk Saw Cutting Program, which aims to correct trip hazards Village wide. The process is fast, cost effective, and improves safety.
There are 220 miles of Lombard public sidewalk that are maintained by Public Works. When a section of sidewalk is ½ - 2 ½ inches higher than an adjacent section, Sidewalk Saw Cutting may quickly fix the issue. This process is a fast, cost-effective way to level out uneven sidewalks and improve safety. Work is progressing incrementally and annually in zones.
If you would like to report a trip hazard (difference of 1-1/4” or greater), please feel free to submit the location at www.villageoflombard.org/reportaconcern. More information about sidewalk programs is available at www.villageoflombard.org/sidewalks.
