On Friday, January 22, 2021 at approximately 9:26 p.m., the Lombard Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 700 Block of S. Stewart Ave.
Arriving crews observed smoke coming from a single-story residence. A fire was located in the basement of the building and was extinguished. Crews remained on the scene checking for fire extension and performing overhaul operations.
There were no injuries to firefighters or residents and one cat was rescued from the fire. The damage estimate to the home is approximately $100,000. Lombard was assisted on the scene by the Villa Park and Elmhurst Fire Departments as well as the York Center and Addison Fire Protection Districts.
