March 1, 2021:

The Village has been notified that repair crews from AT&T will be working to repair damage to AT&T underground cables in the southbound curb lane on Main Street between St. Charles Road and Parkside. The work will last several weeks and will require a lane closure on Main Street. Southbound Main Street will be reduced to one lane from St. Charles. Rd. to Parkside Ave. and the westbound turn lane from northbound Main Street onto St. Charles will also be impacted, as AT&T crews work to fix damaged equipment.  Access to McGuire Drive from Main Street will be temporarily blocked.  AT&T anticipates restoring access to McGuire Drive by Thursday (March 4, 2021).

The damage was a result of directional boring being performed by a contractor working for a private utility.  The damage occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd and resulted in outages for many AT&T customers in Lombard. Temporary repairs have been made; however, the permanent repair will take a few weeks to complete.  The Village will continue to provide updates on the work as information is available.  Customers with service issues should contact AT&T directly at (800) 331-0500.

(Feb. 25th, 3:55 p.m.) The Village has been in contact with AT&T regarding ongoing outages for some of their customers.  The Village was first notified of the outage on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd, due to damage caused by another company that was conducting underground work on Main Street between Parkside Avenue and St. Charles Road.  AT&T crews are working around the clock to make repairs.  While the majority of customers have regained service, a portion of customers are still experiencing an outage.

The Village will continue to share updates as they become available, however customers should contact AT&T directly with questions or concerns at 800-331-0500.  AT&T has notified the Village that temporary repairs are being made to restore service to all customers as quickly as possible, however due to the severity of the damage, permanent repairs may take longer.  This work has required closing one southbound lane on Main Street from St. Charles Road to Parkside Avenue.  Access to the Metra platform is available via Park Avenue.
