The Lombard Public Works Department is seeking residents to participate in its Public Works Citizens Academy (PWCA) this October.
The free Academy is open to residents 18 and older and offers hands-on training activities, tours of Village facilities and presentations by Public Works staff. Lombard’s PWCA will be conducted on Monday evenings, 6 - 8:30 p.m., October 4 – 25. A reception to recognize participants will be held on Thursday, November 4.
Topics covered will include streets, electrical and forestry divisions as well as underground utilities. Participants will also see demonstrations, learn about Lombard’s utility systems, and tour the Glenbard Wastewater Authority.
“We started this program because residents are curious about Lombard’s construction, underground utilities, and the role that Public Works plays in maintaining our community,” said Public Works Director Carl Goldsmith. “The program has been extremely successful and we look forward to hosting another group of residents who want to experience Lombard Public Works.”
