We hope you’re enjoying the holiday season! Here are some tips and reminders for wrapping up:
🎄 Trees and garland will be collected for free on your normal service day from January 3rd to 14th. They’ll be mulched so remove all ornaments, lights, wiring and tinsel. Take care that the tree does not become covered with snow or frozen to the ground.
🎄 Light strands may be dropped off in front of the Public Works building at 1051 S Hammerschmidt anytime (24/7) through January 17th. No plastic bags or yard ornaments, please.
🎄 Note, gift wrap is only recyclable if 100% paper. (Tape is fine). Plastic and foil wrap, ribbons and bows are NOT recyclable curbside.
🎄 Cardboard boxes should be folded to fit within your cart. Never place your carts in the street since that interferes with plowing.
🎄 Styrofoam is NOT recyclable curbside. It should be either disposed as trash or dropped off for specialized recycling to remold. Many religious educational institutions arrange such collections, and also community recycling events as well.
🎄 Please donate to the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry at 155 S Main St, and any unneeded gifts to local community organizations.
🎄 Decorations should be displayed no longer than 60 days for each holiday. February 14th is for loved ones, not Santa!
