The Village of Lombard is pleased to announce that it will receive more than $500,000 to fund infrastructure improvements through the new Rebuild Illinois capital plan.
The funding is allocated for the following projects/improvements:
- $125,000 for general street construction/pedestrian safety
- $50,000 for capital projects
- $213,000 for the planned Highland Sewer Improvements Project
- $150,000 for Woodrow drainage improvements.
“I’ve been very straightforward about the long-term budget challenges that the Lombard is facing,” said Village President Keith Giagnorio. “The money that Lombard receives under the state’s comprehensive capital plan will help to improve our roads and sewer and drainage systems a lot faster than if we didn’t have it. We’re very grateful to State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, State Sen. Suzy Glowiak, and State Sen. Tom Cullerton for their work in pursuing this funding for our community.”
Funding will be distributed to appropriate projects beginning in this fiscal year. Construction updates will be available at www.villageoflombard.org/construction.
