[ARCHIVED] Tree Stump Grinding Project to Begin on Aug 19th

Tree Stump Grinding

The Village of Lombard will be grinding tree stumps located in the parkways throughout the Village for two weeks beginning Friday, August 19th. To facilitate the efficient grinding of stumps, please do not park vehicles on the street adjacent to stumps that have been flagged for utility locates.

Within a day of the stump being ground, a Public Works crew will be leveling the grindings and raking the area. A separate contractor will be excavating the remaining grinding and restoring the site with soil and seed in September. To view the identified tree stumps and track the project’s progress, visit

If you have any questions, please contact Public Works at (630) 620-5740 or email
