The Village of Lombard is seeking nominations for its 14th Annual Senior of the Year Awards, which recognizes outstanding seniors who volunteer or go above and beyond to positively benefit the Lombard community.
The Senior Man and Senior Women of the Year Awards will be presented at the Village’s Senior Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center, 500 E. Wilson Ave. The awards will be presented at 10 a.m. All nominees will be recognized and the winning seniors will ride in the 2020 Lilac Time Parade.
Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee.
“This is a great opportunity to help give back to senior citizens that have given so much to our community,” said Trustee Dan Militello, Chair of the Community Relations Committee, which helps to organize the event. “We hope that residents will nominate a neighbor, friend, or family member that has contributed to our Village.”
All nominations must be received by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6 for consideration. The Community Relations Committee will vote for the winner on Monday, Sept 9. Nominees and winners will be notified.
