[ARCHIVED] National Public Works Week: May 21-27

National Public Works Week is May 15-21 and this year’s American Public Works Association (APWA) 2022 National Public Works Week theme is "Connecting the World Through Public Works." This year's theme highlights the way public works professionals connect us physically through infrastructure and inspire us through their service to the community. Whether as first responders or daily workers carrying out their duties with pride, they play a vital role.

The Lombard Public Works Department contributes to the safety and smooth functioning of our community every day. They maintain our roadways, ensure the highest quality and safety of our drinking water, oversee construction projects, and are always prepared to address street, water, and sewer-related emergencies at a moment's notice. They are what makes our community such a great place to live, work, and visit. Join us in celebrating the quiet work these professionals do that makes life better for all of us.

This week allows us to energize and remind everyone of the importance of public works in our daily lives from the sidewalks we walk on, the safe roads we drive on, to the freshwater we drink.  For more information about Lombard Public Works visit www.villageoflombard.org/publicworks.
