At the Thursday, June 15th Village Board Meeting, Village Staff and Trustees discussed ten current vacancies on Lombard's volunteer boards, committees, and commissions. The Village is actively seeking applications from qualified candidates who are passionate about serving their community.
The Village encourages residents who are interested in volunteering to serve their community and who possess experience related to the committee vacancies to apply. Current vacancies include:
- Community Promotions & Tourism Committee (3)
- Community Relations Committee (1)
- Economic & Community Development (1)
- Finance & Administration (1)
- Public Works & Environmental Concerns Committee (1)
- Board of Local Improvements (1)
- Lombard Historic Preservation Commission (2)
“One of the things that makes our Board so successful is our relationships with committees, which consist of resident volunteers,” said Village President Keith Giagnorio. “These committees have a voice, providing valuable input, recommendations, and feedback on important matters of policy. I encourage anyone considering getting involved to apply.”
Seated terms for these positions range between two and five years, and individuals interested in joining standing advisory committees must be Village residents. While there are no specific professional requirements to serve, individuals with relevant experience in the committee's subject area are strongly encouraged to apply. The Village will actively disseminate information about these volunteer opportunities to ensure that all vacancies are adequately filled.

If you are interested in serving, please complete and submit the online application form. If you have applied within the last year, your application is valid and will be considered. For applications submitted over a year ago, please submit a new application.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with committee chairs reviewing the first round of applications by July 24th. Throughout August and September, committee chairs will review applications and interview selected applicants. Appointments are anticipated to take place in September.
