The Village has received inquiries on the collection of debris from the winter storm on October 30, 2019. The Village Board has adopted a Storm Debris Management Policy that defines the Village’s response protocol for trees downed on public and private property.  Under the Policy, there are two levels of response in the event that a sufficient number of homes are impacted.  A Localized Response is when more than 50, but less than 200 homes are impacted by the storm by wind or a 50 year rain event.  The second level is a Village Response, in which damage to trees and bushes is realized by more than 200 homes are impacted by the storm  by wind or rainfall exceeds a 50 year storm event.

Based upon the number of impacted homes and the recorded wind and rain due to the storm, the Village did not activate either level of response.

Damaged parkway trees will be addressed by the Department, but all material from a tree on private property will need to be disposed of in accordance with the Waste Management contract.  The Contract provides that bundled brush must not exceed six (6) feet in length and fifty (50) pounds in weight. Each branch shall not exceed six (6) inches in diameter, with the total diameter of the bundle not to exceed 18 inches.  Questions can be directed to the Public Works Department at 630-620-5740
