June 3 Update from the Village of Lombard
The Village of Lombard remains on high alert in response to reports of looting and vandalism in communities throughout the region. In addition to regular Village-wide patrols, an increased police presence in our in commercial districts will continue until the broader regional situation stabilizes.
Due to the nature of the evolving situation, some businesses may have limited or reduced hours of operation out of an abundance of caution. Please contact businesses directly for hours of operation.
The Village of Lombard is partnering with neighboring Police Departments, the Illinois State Police, the National Guard, and the DuPage County Office of Emergency Management, and DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, in efforts to bolster our presence. Residents are reminded to maintain awareness of their surroundings and to dial 9-1-1 if they witness suspicious or unsafe behavior, and then leave the area if able. Law enforcement has seen a rise in criminal behavior in the evening hours, therefore residents remain advised to stay home in the evenings, if possible.
The Village of Lombard will continue to provide information with the public, when appropriate. Updates will be shared as they become available on Lombard’s Facebook and Twitter pages, and at www.villageoflombard.org. Residents can sign up for e-mail news updates at www.villageoflombard.org/enews.
