sanitary sewer testing

Sanitary Sewer Testing Begins

The Village of Lombard will be conducting sanitary sewer testing the week of July 20th. The testing uses non-toxic smoke/vapor to identify underground breaks or leaks.  During times of extreme rainfall, ground water may enter the sewer system through underground leaks. This water may contribute to the overloading of the system. Identifying and fixing underground leaks may help reduce back-ups. During testing, you may see smoke rising out of sanitary sewer manholes, chimneys of buildings, or the ground. The project requires dry conditions and is weather dependent. Homes in the testing area that may be directly impacted will be notified before testing with door hangers.

Take the 2020 Census! Everybody counts, Lombard!

What happens in the 2020 Census will affect funding for hospitals, schools, construction, transportation, social services, and more. Census takers will soon be knocking on the doors of those who have not completed the 2020 Census. If you have already taken the Census, the Village is encouraging residents who have already completed the Census to encourage friends and neighbors to take the Census now!
