Unemployment Scams Reported


The Lombard Police Department has received reports from residents who have been targeted by unemployment insurance scams. This scam includes identity theft of a victim, whereby the criminal files for unemployment in the victim's name. Lombard Police are sharing tips from the FBI to help keep you safe.

Plan Commission Recommends Approval for Cannabis Facility


On June 26th, the Village of Lombard received an application for a recreational cannabis facility seeking to open a location at 783 E. Butterfield Rd. This location is within an approved conditional use area and therefore required a Plan Commission hearing. On Monday, the Plan Commission recommended the application, PC 20-18, for approval by the Village Board. The Board will consider the request at their meeting on Thursday, August 20th at 6 p.m. If approved, the facility can move forward in opening for business. Police Department Seeking Information Related to Homicide 


The Lombard Police Department is seeking information related to a vehicle seen in the vicinity of a homicide that occurred on June 24th at approximately 6:50 a.m., near the location of 17th Place and Main Street in Lombard. Anyone with information is advised to contact the Lombard Police Department at (630)873-4400.

The State of Illinois recently announced that increased restrictions will apply in the event that COVID-19 numbers spike in designated regions. Help keep Lombard (Region 8) open by following health and safety reminders from the CDC.

Digital Demos for Kids
Learn how to make unique crafts with the kids from digital demos on Tuesday, July 28th, at 1:00 p.m. via Facebook. Sun catchers, a thaumatrope a what?), a Tic Tac Toe game
and a train will be demonstrated. Staff will be available to answer questions, a video will be posted on Facebook, and supply lists and instructions will be posted on the website at lombardhistory.org. 

Bring your own Ice Cream Social Concerts are Back!
Bring your Own Ice Cream Social Concerts will return on Tuesday, August 11th at 7 p.m., with acoustic guitar music from Jim Green. Registration is required and attendance is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The DuPage County Health Department COVID-19 dashboard, shows the number of lab-confirmed COVID-19
cases in each municipality. As of July 23, there have been a total of 500 lab confirmed cases in Lombard. 

The best way you can protect yourself is to socially distance yourself from people outside of your home, and limit your potential exposure. Wash your hands regularly, for 20 seconds, using soap, and do not touch your face with unwashed hands.
