Seeking Nominations for Senior Man and Senior Woman of the Year


The Village of Lombard is seeking nominations for Senior of the Year Awards, which recognizes outstanding seniors who volunteer or go above and beyond to positively benefit the Lombard community.

Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee. Winners will be selected by the Village’s Community Relations Committee.

Road Construction Update

  • On Friday, August 21, 2020, Schroeder Asphalt will crack-seal Main Street between Graham Avenue and Glenbard East High School, while a second crew will resurface Northlake Drive and St. Regis Drive.  Concurrently on Main Street, a Village crew will repair a curb inlet in the northbound lane at Graham Avenue. 

  • On Saturday, Schroeder will resurface Madison Street.  On then on Monday and Tuesday, they will then resurface Main Street.  

  • Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout all project areas, and all work is dependent on the weather.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day Campaign 


The Lombard Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies throughout the state for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day enforcement campaign. Extra enforcements will be on the road August 20 - Sept. 8, cracking down on impaired drivers.

Census Takers Going Door-to-Door


As part of its Non-response Followup Operation (NRFU), the U.S. Census Bureau is visiting every household that has not already responded to the 2020 Census to ensure a complete and accurate count. Census takers are scheduled to visit non-responding households in Lombard between August 11 – September 30, 2020.

We Remember Blood Drive 


Lombard's We Remember Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, September 9. The blood drive will begin at 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the lower level of Yorktown outside of Von Maur. The blood drive will then move locations to the First Church of Lombard Fellowship Hall, at 220 S. Main Street, from 1:30 - 7 p.m. 

Please remember it takes only an hour to be a hero and save a life- donating blood is safe, simple and does save lives.  Be a hero – donate blood.  New to the Blood Drive Program - all blood donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

New Historical Marker 
The Lombard Historical Society unveiled a new historical marker, honoring Ellen Martin and 14 women who voted in a local Lombard election in 1881.
