Village Offices Closed on Labor Day

Village offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8 for regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Village Hall public access hours are limited to Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Anyone seeking assistance may call 630-620-5700. 

Additionally, Waste Management will be operating on a holiday schedule and pick up will be delayed by one day.

During a time of crisis, it is important to have emergency plans already in place. September is National Preparedness Month and the Village will be sharing information reminding residents that disasters do not wait - Make your plan today.

Seeking Nominations for Senior Man and Senior Woman of the Year

The Village of Lombard is seeking nominations for Senior of the Year Awards, which recognizes outstanding seniors who volunteer or go above and beyond to positively benefit the Lombard community.

Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee. Winners will be selected by the Community Relations Committee.

With the upcoming election on Nov. 3rd approaching, businesses and residences are reminded of of regulations pertaining to political campaign signs located within the Village.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day Campaign 

The Lombard Police Department has joined with law enforcement agencies throughout the state for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day enforcement campaign. Extra enforcements will be on the road through Sept. 8, cracking down on impaired drivers.

2020 Sidewalk Cutting Program

The 2020 Sidewalk Cutting Program is up and running. There are 220 miles of Lombard public sidewalk that are maintained by Public Works. Sidewalk Saw Cutting is a fast, cost effective process that helps level out uneven sections of sidewalks and improve safety.

"We Remember" Blood Drive 

Lombard's We Remember Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, September 9. The blood drive will begin at 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the lower level of Yorktown outside of Von Maur. The blood drive will then move locations to the First Church of Lombard Fellowship Hall, at 220 S. Main Street, from 1:30 - 7 p.m. 

Please remember it takes only an hour to be a hero and save a life- donating blood is safe, simple and does save lives.  Be a hero - donate blood.  New to the Blood Drive Program - all blood donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

September 11th Moment of Silence

In efforts to help keep our first responders safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lombard Fire Department will not be hosting a public 2020 September 11th event. The Village honors those who lost their lives on 9/11 and appreciates your understanding. Residents wishing to pay tribute may participate in a moment of silence from their homes, at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. 


9 p.m. routine

Residents Reminded to Follow the 9 p.m. Routine 

The Lombard Police Department is reminding residents to NEVER leave their cars unlocked, ALWAYS remove valuables from your car (including garage door openers) and to follow the 9 p.m. routine.
