door to door canvassing

Door-to-Door Canvassing Reminder

During an election year, door-to-door canvassing may increase. This act is not limited by the Village’s current moratorium on door-to-door solicitation that has been in place since March 20th due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not within the Village’s authority to regulate or license door-to-door advocacy of a position or cause, with or without the distribution of pamphlets, handbills or literature, unless the person is otherwise peddling or soliciting for commercial sales or funds. Commercial sales and fund solicitors remain prohibited until further notice. Residents wishing to avoid door-to-door solicitors of any kind, including canvassing workers may place a “No Solicitors” sign in plain view.

The Village honors those who lost their lives on 9/11 and encourages residents to observe a moment of silence from their homes, at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

First responders will be holding their annual observance in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11 privately this year and appreciate your understanding.
