Region 8 Moves to Tier 2 Mitigations

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced that Region 8 (DuPage and Kane Counties) has met the requirements necessary to move to Tier 2 of resurgence mitigations.

The chart below from the Governor's office highlights the primary differences between the three tiers. Most notably, in Tier 2, recreational activities are now allowed for either the lesser of 25 guests or 25% of overall capacity both indoors and outdoors, and indoor sports and recreation have been unpaused.

COVID Mitigations: Moving in the Right Direction

While Tier 2 Mitigations do not include indoor dining, we are headed in the right direction! In order to move to resume indoor dining, Tier 1 mitigations must be in place. To reach Tier 1 mitigations,  a region must meet test positivity and hospital capacity metrics.

Let's keep moving forward by practicing the 3 Ws: wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands.
