Region 8 Moves to Tier 1 Mitigations

Region 8 Moves to Tier 1 COVID-19 Mitigations
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced that due to decreased COVID-19 positivity rates, Region 8, including Lombard, will be moving to Tier 1 of COVID-19 Mitigations, which includes the allowance of limited indoor dining.

Restricted Indoor Dining Permitted in Tier 1
The State of Illinois recently revised Tier 1 Mitigations of the State’s Restore Illinois Plan, to allow restaurants and bars to reopen for indoor service limited to the lesser of 25% or 25 persons per room, with no tables exceeding 4 people indoors.

COVID Mitigations: Moving in the Right Direction

Region 8’s progression into Tier 1 is due to decreased COVID-19 positivity rates and a decrease in hospital bed usage from COVID-19 patients. In order to continue to keep moving in the right direction with decreased restrictions, it is up to each one of us to take personal action to slow the spread of illness.

The best ways you can protect yourself and your families is to socially distance yourself from people outside of your home, and limit your potential exposure. Let's keep moving forward by practicing the 3 Ws: wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands.

Vaccine Registration from DuPage County Health Department

Since the pandemic began, DuPage County has been preparing to make one or more COVID-19 vaccines available as soon as possible. There is a nation-wide limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines, however it is believed that vaccine access will continually increase in the weeks and months to follow. The DuPage County Health Department is working with partners at all levels, including hospitals, health care providers, and community leaders, on flexible COVID-19 vaccination programs that can accommodate different vaccines and scenarios.

  • Vaccine Registration: Residents can sign up to receive updates on when and where their designated groups may begin to receive vaccines.

  • Frequently Asked Questions: The DCHD has compiled a list of frequently asked questions  related to the vaccine, including “When do I get my vaccine?” to “What is the plan for 1b?” This list is updated weekly. Residents are encouraged to review this list to find out more information about the DCHD plan regarding vaccinations.
